So I’m on a quest to find the best s’more in LA, right? These cupcakes at Kitchen 24 claimed to be s’more flavored, so of course I was intrigued. Also, I needed to get change for a $20. So… it all worked out perfectly.
This is a precursor to my “cakes of the weekend” photo blog (indeed, this happened last Sunday), so… here are pictures.
As I recall, that graham cracker-dusted part is pretty much all frosting. I’m a minimal-frosting person, so I knew a mess would ensue. I tried to eat the graham cracker dust off of the frosting, which proved nearly impossible. (Why was the dust so important to me?) (Existential question alert.)

And now for the surgery…
As this picture illustrates, the s’more cupcake was a chocolate cupcake with marshmallows and a dusting of graham cracker on top. My friends were disappointed that it didn’t have marshmallow creme filling, or at least SOMETHING to make it a resemble a s’more, besides the decorations.
But it was still a chocolate-y cupcake. A little crumbly. Not Spinkles-caliber, but that’s life.
Next time, a real s’more. (I hope.)
